NO CHANCE FOR ABRASION.

EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC WEAR PROTECTION SOLUTIONS IN DEFINED PLANT COMPONENTS FROM TH. SCHOLTEN GMBH & CO. KG.

WEAR PROTECTION IN MECHANICAL CONVEYORS

Signs of wear are especially risky wherever plant components are connected to each other by conveying means because they present a hazard to the operation of the entire plant. Shutdowns come in combination with high costs and require a certain amount of time that should not be underestimated.
For this reason, wear parts used in the storage of bulk materials that need to be handled in bulk require special protection.
The Th. Scholten GmbH & Co. KG uses specially suited materials or a combination of these materials for efficient and long-term wear protection for these sensitive locations in a system of operation.

WEAR PROTECTION FOR CHUTES AND SLIDES

Chutes and slides act as transport elements that feed corresponding materials to conveying systems like pipelines and thus fill them with the material. This process is associated with heavy, continuous wear, the intensity of which depends on various operating parameters. These parameters include the medium itself and the temperature or temperature fluctuations, geometry, and the flow rates to which the material transported is exposed.
For such cases, the Th. Scholten GmbH & Co. KG develops tailor-made wear protection linings made of cast basalt, zirconia ceramic, or alumina ceramic as well as jointless coatings with the ceramic wear protection mortar SC-WearStop (for applications up to 1,200°C) to ensure the processes remain reliable.

WEAR PROTECTION FOR TROUGHS, CHAIN CONVEYORS, AND SPIRAL CONVEYORS

Troughs and conveyors are generally exposed to high friction wear. For such areas, wear protection solutions using extremely hard cast basalt, which possess especially high abrasion resistance, compressive strength, and low sliding friction, are particularly suitable. They can be installed directly on concrete trenches or steel troughs or can also be mounted with the aid of wire mesh.
For special applications, a combination of linings may be used – i.e. a combination of different materials – depending on the stresses involved. Example: Lining the bottom of troughs with cast basalt or hard ceramic while lining the areas near the conveyor chains with wear protection linings made of alumina ceramic.

If transport by truck is not economical or it is impossible to remove existing plant components, the Th. Scholten GmbH & Co. KG would be happy to perform such wear protection tasks on site or provide qualified personnel to carry out a project.
